Dr. Shrum grew up in Hebron, Indiana, attended undergrad at Purdue University, then Medical School at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency training at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center – Sinai Grace Hospital. Dr. Shrum’s secret talent is endurance sports: he even spent one summer cycling over 4300 miles across the country from Seattle to Washington, DC. Dr. Shrum joined BCEM because he wanted to be part of a team that values patient care, open communication, and teamwork. He commented that “Even on the busiest days, colleagues have good departmental awareness and are willing to help.” We are fortunate to have Dr. Shrum on our team!
