Zionsville, Indiana is known for being a sought-after “up-and-coming” town just northwest of Indianapolis. In fact, it was named the 2nd Best Suburbs in America by Business Insider (2014); one of the top 10 small towns in the US, and the safest small town in America (by Movoto Real Estate Blog, 2014). Zionsville public schools are consistently in the top 5 in the state. The town’s downtown area is known as the “village” and includes plenty of dining, entertainment, shopping, and cultural options.
Shelbyville, Indiana also has a lot to offer. It is a small town with a big heart, with its close proximity to Indianapolis providing easy access to the benefits of the city, while still maintaining its small-town appeal. For example, its historic Mainstreet Shelbyville area has a great mix of old and new shops, restaurants, and other businesses. Shelbyville is also home to Indiana GRAND Casino and horse track, which opened in 2009 and is now the largest land-based casino located in the Midwest. Residents of Shelbyville enjoy a very active Parks and Recreation Department that hosts sports, festivals, and other activities year-round.
